The Clique Summer Collection: Massie

In the beginning Massie is at summer camp at Galwaugh Farms, an exclusive horseback riding camp. She got kicked out when she cheated in a competition. Her parents cut her off of her credit cards until she could pay them back. She decided to be a cosmetic consultant for Be Pretty Cosmetics. If you become a high seller you get a purple streak and you never have to wait on any line again. She becomes a really good sales person and Anastasia Brees believes in true beauty. When she finds out the way Massie was selling the cosmetics she got really mad. Massie was telling everyone what was wrong with them so they could buy her products. In the end Massie paid off her debit to her parents and got her purple streak.

The main character of this book was Massie Block, I think that she is a really big brat. She gets whatever she wants when ever she wants and if she doesn't get it there is a huge problem. She always gets what she wants in the end.

Something that I really liked about this book was how she got what she wanted by working hard for it. I didn't like how she insulted people about their flaws just so she could get the purple streak. I also hate how she pretends to use all Be Pretty products when she doesn't use any.

One reading strategy that I used was that I made a connection to the book Bratfest at Tiffany's. on the first day of school in that book Massie talks about her summer and her purple streak. Another strategy that I used was that I made a prediction that she would get what she wanted, the purple streak, and I was right.

John Adams #7

In the beginning of this episode, John and Abigail return to their home and Abby and Sally with their children are living there. Colonial Smith went to the west to search for a job because he developed a bad reputation in Boston and was not hired anywhere. Abby needed a doctor because she had breast cancer. The doctor said that he knew no other way than the knife so he amputated it. A few weeks later the same pain started to come back and instead of calling the doctor she died. Sally took care of all of the children, hers and Abby's. Then one day Abigail dies and John Adams was too upset for words. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson used to be best friends and then they got into a fight and separated. They start writing and they become friends again, they where both old and dying. John Quincy Adams becomes president just long enough for his father to be proud. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both die on July 4th.

In his episode I feel really bad for John Adams, he loses a daughter and a wife only a few weeks apart. John Adams is very upset through out the whole episode, not even his son becoming president can cheer him up.

This was my favorite episode of the whole series, but I didn't like how everyone died. I feel really bad for Sally, I think that she should have hired someone to help her watch all of those kids. I also liked how John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on the same day. I hated how they made John Adams lie in the bed with Abigail as she was dying, I thought that was so sad.

I predicted that John Adams was going to die after John Quincy Adams became president, I was right. I am happy that this happened because I think that John Adams was very proud of him. I also made a connection to what we learned in class. We learned that John Quincy Adams was the 6th president.

John Adams #6

In the beginning of this episode, Alexander Hamilton and John Adams get into a fight about the war. Alexander Hamilton is very concerned about the clothes and John Adams is more concerned about the actual fighting. John Adams also kicks Charles out of the family because when he goes to visit him he was lying drunk on the table. He was ashamed to be his father so he removed him from the family. Later, he got sick and he went to live with Sally in the Adams' house while Abigail and John lived in the White House. He died and Abigail was so upset, John Adams tried not to look or feel upset but he was distraught in the inside.

John Adams in this episode is so heartless. I can't believe that he kicked Charles out of the family. I think that what Charles did was bad, he shouldn't drink, but I don't think that John should have just abandoned him. I also didn't like the way that he pretended not to care when Charles was dead.

Something that I liked about this show was how Abigail let Sally and Charles live in their house, even though according to John he was no longer a family member. I didn't like how Charles didn't even try to stop drinking after he had 3 kids and a wife. I think that he should have been more responsible and got a job, especially not drink so much in front of his children.

In this show I made the prediction that Charles was going to die and he did. I also made a connection to what we learned in school. We learned that John Adams was the first president to live in the White House.

John Adams #5

In this episode John Adams is elected vice president. He gets unhappy when Colonial Smith asks John Adams for his blessing to marry his daughter. John Adams yells at him and says no way. Abigail talks to him so he reconsidered and let the two marry. Months later they have their fist child. Charles asked his father for his blessing to get married to a girl named Sally and again John says absolutely not. Charles and John Adams got into a fight when Charles yells at him for never paying attention to him as a kid and leaving him in the care of tutors. Charles gets married to Sally anyway and then they have a child. While all of this is happening Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson are trying to spilt into two groups called the Federalists and the Republicans. George Washington and John Adams both don't approve of the idea. After George Washington served two terms John Adams was elected president.

In this episode John Adams is very cranky and he is always mad. I hate his attitude the most in this episode because he becomes president and vice president and he acts like he doesn't even care. I also especially don't like the way he treats Colonial Smith and Charles in this show.

Something that I liked about this episode was that Abby and Colonial Smith got married and had a child. I think that is something to bring up the mood of this episode instead of all of the fighting going on. Another good thing was how Charles and Sally got married. The other things that I enjoyed in this episode was the fact that John was elected both president and vice president.

A strategy that I used was making predictions and making connections. The prediction that I made was that I predicted that even though John said Charles couldn't get married he would do it anyway and he did. A connection that I made was to my humanities class, we learned that John Adams was the 2nd president and the 1st vice president.

John Adams #4

In the beginning of this episode he goes to Holland and the Dutch loan money to John Adams for the war. It took a while to convince them but he did so he got money from them. After that John Adams returns to France and Abagail meets him there. They left their children in the care of tutors the rest of there schooling until Charles, (the smallest son) is at least 18. John Adams also invited the Adams' great friend Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson always seemed to be sad because his wife and child both recently passed away. While in Paris they also see Ben Franklin with a new wife. During their visit John has a meeting with King George III and it goes very well. In the end of this episode John and Abigail return to Boston and reunite with their children. They find out that Charles has a drinking problem, John Quincy has a serious relationship and Colonial Smith and Abby start to like each other.

In this episode John Adams makes me feel bad for his children. I think that Charles is the way that he is because his parents both left the country at a very young age. I do not like the way that John treats his family, he is so strict I think that people are actually scared of him.

I liked how the Adams' family was reunited in this episode and I am happy that they weren't apart for way too long. I don't like the children's personalities though, I think that Abby is too quiet, John Quincy is too proper, Thomas is okay and Charles is too rebellious. I also don't like how they kind of left Thomas Jefferson in France alone.

In this episode I made a prediction that John Adams is going to get really mad at Charles for drinking. Another strategy that I used was that I made a connection between episodes. I connected the 3rd episode and this episode because in the 3rd one John gets sick. In the forth he is still very sick.

John Adams #2

In the beginning of this episode, the Continental Congress gets a letter saying that anyone that doesn't listen to a British officer will be killed. After that John Adams asked Thomas Jefferson to write a Deceleration of Independence. John Adams and George Washington love the document that Thomas Jefferson made and they show it to the Continental Congress. At John's house all of them get vaccinated for small pox, because it was going around. A few days after they got vaccinated Abby (the daughter) gets them. While this is going on George Washington and his troops were fighting at the battle of Fort Ticonderoga where the Colonies obtained some new weapons.

In this episode John Adams seems like he is bossing everyone around. I didn't like the way that he ordered Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence. I also didn't like the way that he barely cared that his daughter had small pox, a life threatening sickness.

Something that I liked about this episode was that the 13 Colonies were finally free from Britain! I also really liked the Declaration of Independence that Thomas Jefferson wrote. I did not like how Abby got the small pox and I also didn't like the way that they were vaccinated. That part made me turn away, I can't believe that's how people were treated instead of shots.

One reading strategy that I used in this episode was that I made a prediction that Abby would get better and she did! I also made a connection to the other episode that I saw, (the first one, Join or Die) the way that the Continental Congress meetings were held.

John Adams #1

In the beginning John was returning to Boston after a trip. When he came home he heard gun shots so he went into town and saw British solders firng at people in a crowd. A few days later John was called into court to represent the military official. John Adams didn't want to lose so he tyred everything in his power to find the truth. It turned out that the official was Innocent because the crowd was tormenting the solders. They were throwing rocks and screaming mean things out to them so the solders fired there guns into the horrible crowd. There was a witness that said that someone had yelled fire, but it was not the Captain. The whole thing was a misunderstanding. After the trial, John went down to the harbour and he witnessed a British tax collector get tar and feathered. The tax collector said that they needed to pay the tax in order to get the tea and someone said to tar and feather him so they did. When he went home he was asked to be a member in the Continental Congress, or it was a group of politicians (I don't remember). He went and volunteered George Washington to be the general of the Revolutionary War.

The main character of this episode was John Adams. I don't like his personality at all. I think that he was a good lawyer, but I don't think that he should have volunteered George Washington without asking him. Another thing that I did like about him though, was that he felt bad when they tared and feathered that Innocent man.

Something that I really liked about this episode was how the court seemed so realistic. I loved the way that he questioned everything and I thought that that was very well done. Another thing that I loved about this episode was how the jail that the Captain and the solders were put in looked so real, I felt like I was right there watching when this took place.

A reading strategy that I used was making predicting, when prediction that I made was that I thought that the townspeople would get mad at John Adams for representing that British man in court, but luckily my prediction was wrong. Another strategy that I used was that I made a connection to my humanities class. I made this connection because we learned about people getting tarred and feathered and we also learned about the Boston Massacre.
